Sip and Swish at The Iron Bridge Wine Company, Located Not Far From Lakehouse

24 June, 2019 | Apartments

In 2003 Rob and Steve Wecker decided to open a little wine shop just outside Columbia. They hoped to bring in enough business to pay the bills, while spending their days helping customers develop an appreciation for fine wines. In the fifteen years since then, their shop, The Iron Bridge Wine Company, has succeeded beyond their wildest expectations.

Iron Bridge is now a popular regional wine destination, winning numerous awards from culinary magazines. Despite all the buzz, however, Iron Bridge has stayed true to its roots and retains its casual, friendly atmosphere. You can stop by to sample a few wines by the glass (the sommelier-curated wine flights are popular) while nibbling on a charcuterie plate, or you can make a reservation for lunch or dinner. The food menu is focused on upscale American fare, like smoked duck breast with grilled asparagus, or pan-seared wild Alaskan salmon with charred plums and mixed bell peppers.
