Now Open Near Lakehouse: Busboys and Poets Columbia

10 December, 2021 | Apartments

If you’ve been to another Busboys and Poets location, you know we’re lucky to now have one in Columbia! This unique local chain brings together food and drink with literacy and advocacy for a combo that’s pretty great. The name comes from American poet Langston Hughes, as he worked as a busboy before becoming a well-known poetic legacy! So while you wait for your table, browse the reads on the shelves and keep an eye out for cultural events they host periodically.

As for the food, the eatery serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, happy hour, and just about anything you can think of under their roof. The versatility is one thing locals love; it’s a great go-to spot any time of day. Breakfast serves up eggs Benedict, French toast and pancakes, internationally inspired dishes like Iraqi corned beef hash, omelettes, and more. And it’s served daily until 3 p.m., which is even better. If you’re in the mood for lunch fare, grab one of their hot paninis, specialty salads, sandwiches, or burgers. They also have a bunch of great entrees like shrimp and chicken chorizo pasta and fried catfish with collard greens and herb grits. No matter what time of day you visit, you’ll be delighted!
