Start Thanksgiving on a Healthy Foot at the Ellicott City Turkey Trot

Before you sink into a turkey-induced slumber, prep your body to feast by burning off a few calories at the Ellicott City Turkey Trot. On Thanksgiving morning, November 28th, the local YMCA does what it does best—gets the community up and exercising with a fun, family-oriented event!

The Ellicott City Turkey Trot kicks off at 8:30 a.m. at the Long Gate Shopping Center, so give yourself a bit of extra time to get to the starting line. You’ll probably want to don your special Turkey Trot t-shirt—maybe with a few extra layers that you can shed as you go. Or perhaps you want to participate in the Thanksgiving-themed costume contest, where folks dress up as everything from Turkey Day chefs to cans of cranberry sauce. Regardless of what you wear, you’ll enjoy the leisurely 5K that loops around Ellicott City and comes right back to the shopping center. As an added bonus, your registration fee ($40) includes a complimentary 30-day membership at the YMCA.
